Information Drop-in for All Veterans - Sun., Oct 6
The Grandona Legion, Br 124, will be hosting a social gathering and information session on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 from 2-5pm.
The focus will be to inform Veterans in the local area, what resources are available for their benefit. This can be viewed as an opportunity for Veterans to meet others with shared experiences.
If you are a Veteran (Military and RCMP) who may be feeling that you are not receiving the services you deserve, you are welcome to attend along with any support person.
In attendance will be:
- Veterans Affairs (VAC)
- Canada House
- Narcotics Anonymous/Alcoholics Anonymous (NA/AA)
- Guitars for Vets
- RCL Br.124 Grandona
The afternoon is informal with no speeches or presentations.
Tables will be set up to visit at your own leisure.
There will be tea and a light lunch served throughout the afternoon. A cash bar will also be available (ATM on site).
Drop in anytime between 2-5PM.
We would like to see and meet as many Veterans as possible that Day.
Any feedback you may have will help us gauge how the Legion can help serve you better in the future.

ST. BARRA PARISH – FIRST COMMUNION: A short meeting for First Communion Candidates/parents will be held on Saturday, September 21, after the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Columba Church, Iona. The “home program” books will be handed out and any questions you may have will be addressed. Children in Grade 2 and up are eligible to receive their First Communion. WINDOWS AT ST.COLUMBA CHURCH-The two wooden windows on the water side of the church will need to be replaced this year at an estimated cost of $2000 per window.
